Role Summary This is a fantastic opportunity to shape the electro‑mechanical design of R | V Tech's vehicle systems. As an Electro‑Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be directly involved in the complete life‑cycle development of electronic hardware, from early Proof of Concept (PoC) work to final component release and initial manufacturing support.
Responsibilities
Design & Development: Support and develop any Proof of Concept (PoC) work needed to ensure program success.
Component Design: Design and develop analog, digital, and mixed‑signal circuits for hardware modules, including schematic capture and component selection.
Documentation & Release: Generate internal part numbers for new part requests in the Arena PLM database. Ensure drawing releases and component release cycles are understood and followed.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Engage with all cross‑functional engineering and design teams (e.g., Studio, Architecture, Mechanical) to understand requirements and fully optimize solutions for overall performance, cost, and mass.
Debug & Validation: Debug and troubleshoot hardware issues at the board and system level. Work with internal teams and suppliers to maintain component and system‑level DVPRs (Design Verification Plan and Report) and ensure test execution.
Supplier Management: Work closely with Tier 1 suppliers to deliver complete products and systems on time and within budget.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Science, or a relevant technical field or equivalent practical experience.
Proficient in Electrical Engineering fundamentals.
Excellent problem‑solving skills with a methodical approach to root cause analysis.
Preferred Qualifications
2+ years of full‑time experience working in vehicle‑level component programs.
Understanding of the automotive hardware/software development process.
Understanding of vehicle electrical systems.
Familiarity with PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) and component release cycles.
Familiarity with communication protocols such as PCIe, CAN, Ethernet, USB, I²C, SPI.
Knowledge of automotive industry standards and processes (e.g., ASPICE, ISO 26262).
Knowledge of signal integrity (SI) and power integrity (PI) principles and analysis tools.
Pay Disclosure Salary Range for California Based Applicants: $116,300 – $145,400 USD. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law.
