Role Summary As a Senior Electro-Mechanical Design Engineer, you will act as the

Chief Engineer

of your assigned electrical‑mechanical components, leading technical and product excellence at all levels. You will be responsible for leading the full life cycle development of electronic and mechanical hardware systems, ensuring designs meet strict performance, thermal, and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

Technical Leadership: Be the Chief Engineer of your electrical‑mechanical components, driving technical and product excellence.

Design Ownership: Lead complete life-cycle development of electronics, including specifications development, Architecture‑Block diagrams, supplier nomination, and technical assessment of supplier solution.

Risk & Safety Analysis: Lead the development including Preliminary Design Reviews (PDRs) and Critical Design Reviews (CDRs). Perform DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), functional safety analysis, and PFMEAs.

Validation & Testing: Work with internal teams and suppliers to maintain component and system‑level DVPRs and ensure test execution.

Simulation & Packaging (Mechanical Focus): Perform or coordinate CAE analysis for thermal and vibration durability simulations. Define packaging space requirements and design enclosures that meet strict thermal, environmental, and EMC requirements.

Supply Chain & Quality: Work closely with Supplier Quality to ensure components are delivered on time. Manage the supply chain lifecycle for electronic components (EOL/LTB, PCNs, etc.). Scrub Bill of Materials (BoM) for compliance to requirements (AEC‑Q, Temperature grade).

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, a relevant technical field or equivalent practical experience.

Understanding of electronics, packaging, and software.

Knowledge of supplier processes, manufacturing, and standards.

Preferred Qualifications

5+ years of experience working in vehicle level component programs.

Experience with power management design for complex ECUs.

Experience with the ISO 26262 development process.

Experience with functional safety design in automotive, industrial, or aerospace contexts.

Use of deductive and inductive failure analysis tools including FTA (Fault Tree Analysis) and FMEDA (Failure Mode Effects & Diagnostic Analysis) supporting hardware architectural design.

Experience designing for thermal, vibration, and EMC.

Pay Disclosure Pay Disclosure (Example for California Based Applicants): Salary Range for California Based Applicants:

$146,900 - $183,600 USD . (Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
