About the Role
Anthemnet, based in Plano, Texas, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our team as our first in‑house accounting hire. In this pivotal role, you will report directly to the Head of Finance and take ownership of our day‑to‑day accounting operations.
We have outgrown our third‑party bookkeeping service, and this position will help build our internal accounting function from the ground up. The ideal candidate is a well‑rounded mid‑to‑senior level accounting professional experienced in Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and procurement processes. You should be comfortable working hands‑on with QuickBooks and NetSuite, handling complex accounting tasks, and implementing best practices to support our growing business.
Key Responsibilities
Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.
Oversee procurement approvals and issue Purchase Orders (POs).
Perform month‑end close, reconciliations, and prepare journal entries.
Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports.
Ensure GAAP compliance and assist with tax filings.
Maintain accounting systems (QuickBooks and NetSuite).
Document accounting procedures and improve internal controls.
Collaborate cross‑functionally across departments.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and special finance projects.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (MBA/MAcc preferred).
CPA certification preferred.
5+ years of accounting experience (AP, AR, GL, reporting).
Proficiency with QuickBooks; familiarity with NetSuite preferred.
Strong understanding of GAAP and month‑end close.
Telecom or tech industry experience a plus.
Excellent communication, organization, and analytical skills.
