Compensation Range $62,525.00 – $81,200.00. Salary set based on departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training and internal pay comparison. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
Responsibilities The primary responsibilities of the Research Data Analyst will be to apply advanced analytic methods to data from a large, prospective cohort study: Pregnancy Study Online (PRESTO). The Research Data Analyst will conduct data analysis and assist other research team members (students, staff, and investigators) with their analyses and manuscripts. Duties involve data management and procedures documentation; quality control; statistical programming using SAS primarily but also R, Excel, and Access; preparation of datasets for external investigators; birth registry linkage; presenting data in tabular or graphical form; assisting with presentations for scientific conferences; producing data tables and figures for journal manuscripts; and generation of preliminary data for grant proposals. This is an in-person/on-premises role with the occasional opportunity for remote work, upon consideration of impact on business operations.
Required Skills
Masters degree in public health, epidemiology or biostatistics required. The candidate has at least 3 years of full-time work experience as a data analyst on an epidemiologic study, this would substitute for a master's degree, requiring a bachelor's degree.
Solid background in epidemiology.
Demonstrated skill using SAS, Access, Excel and data management to support the analysis project.
Analytic experience and statistical knowledge used to perform descriptive statistics, stratification, and multivariable regression (linear, log-binomial, and Cox) using SAS.
Experience with multiple imputations, spline regression, inverse probability weighting, and measurement error correction.
Extensive knowledge of study design, questionnaire design and development, and methodological issues related to bias and confounding.
Experience writing and publishing scientific manuscripts as co-author.
Desire to work independently to deliver work of the highest quality.
