ASSOCIATE GOVERNMENTAL PROGRAM ANALYST Salary: $6,031.00 – $7,547.00 per month (New to State candidates hired at the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable). Final Filing Date: 11/19/2025

Job Description & Duties Under the direction of the Chief, Budgets Management, a Staff Services Manager I, the incumbent will assist with the development and management of the District’s Personal Service and Operating Expense budgets. The incumbent will update, monitor, maintain, and report on budgetary information by program for various divisions within the District. The Budget Officer is responsible for District Position Management – monitoring positions and movement to ensure no loss of positions to the District; updating the District Organizational Charts and reconciling positions on a monthly basis.

Will consider Staff Services Analyst. Eligibility for hire may be determined by score on the Associate Governmental Program Analyst exam or Staff Services Analyst exam. Candidates lacking current eligibility (e.g., transfer, permissive reinstatement, or voluntary demotions) and/or who are new to state civil services employment must be on the state examination list to be eligible. Working Conditions Position located at 1656 Union Street, Eureka, CA 95501. Incumbent may be required to sit for long periods using a keyboard and video display monitor. Telework from home is available; the office is climate‑controlled and has artificial lighting with modular furniture. The position may be eligible for telework; the amount of telework is at the discretion of the Department and based on Caltrans’s evolving telework policy. Employees are expected to commute to the headquarters as needed. Business travel may be required; all commute expenses are the responsibility of the selected candidate.
