Mobile Diesel Technician Level II . The role performs licensed DOT inspections, Preventative Maintenance inspections, light and follow-up repairs, light mechanical/hydraulic/electrical and electronic diagnostics, and other duties as assigned. The Technician II can perform more advanced diagnostics and repairs under supervision. The position emphasizes ongoing skill development and adherence to company policies and performance metrics. Duties

Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment. Perform minor adjustments and repairs on truck equipment including electrical, braking, cooling, starters/alternators, engine electronics, diesel systems, transmissions, clutches, differentials, and related components. Diagnose, adjust, and repair various truck systems (electrical, braking, cooling, air conditioning, engine electronics, drivetrain components). Inspect, test, and listen to equipment to diagnose malfunctions using diagnostic tools and instruments. Road test vehicles to verify repairs and functionality. Manage parts inventory and maintain the company-issued service truck, including safety checks and pre-/post-trip inspections. Communicate with clients and the support team to assess needs, provide information, resolve problems, and meet expectations. Prioritize and manage multiple tasks and time allocations effectively. Use hand tools, precision instruments, diesel tools, welding equipment, lifts, and jacks. Document work performed, parts used, and findings on Repair Orders using the TRAIT app on an iOS device. Complete all required DOT forms and other documentation in a timely fashion. Work independently with an adaptable daily schedule while maintaining productivity and adherence to standard repair times. Obtain parts from approved vendors as necessary for repairs. Collaborate with management and support teams to obtain approvals and discuss RO findings. Operate in compliance with safety, health, environmental policies and regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and DOT. Requirements

High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience; or 5 years’ related experience. Possess a set of hand tools necessary to perform required duties. Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification T8 (PMI) within 18 months. Complete and pass a DOT pre-employment screening and DOT physical as required by FMCSA regulations. Current and valid DOT medical card or be able to obtain/maintain one as applicable. Age 21 or older due to interstate operating regulations; valid driver’s license and ability to maintain a Driver Qualification File. Required Certifications Within 18 Months: ASE T8 (PMI).
