Business Coordinator

Columbia, SC – School of Music, University of South Carolina
Job Summary:
The Business Coordinator will be an integral member of the School of Music administrative team, reporting to the Assistant Dean for Finance. Responsibilities include travel processing, purchasing, accounts payable and receivable, and financial support for various music programs.
Work Schedule Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule to meet department needs.
Compensation Full‑time, 37.5 hours per week. Salary range $45,133 – $48,000.
Key Responsibilities
Process travel for approximately 50 faculty members, guest artists, and students; ensure compliance with BUSF 1.00.
Assist with payment requests, check requests, and deposits.
Support School of Music financials, including accounts payable, receivable, and purchasing; prepare deposits to USC Bursar.
Collaborate with the Assistant Dean of Finance on monthly reports and annual budget preparation.
Provide financial assistance to the Symphony, Spark, Music Industries, and Summer Music programs.
Serve as liaison for the School of Music purchasing card program.
Qualifications Minimum Required Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED and at least 3 years of related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of USC policies and procedures related to accounting and purchasing.
Understanding of office management policies, record keeping, and financial controls.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex spreadsheets.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe products.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
