Join Mount Sinai Morningside as a full‑time Radiology Registrar. Work Saturdays and Wednesdays from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. to support the department’s business operations and patient‑focused care delivery.
Description The Registrar is responsible for the business aspect of the department and for managing all patient registration processes. Activities include registration, insurance verification, updating financial and demographic data, and ensuring patients receive the required information and assistance.
Responsibilities
Greet and direct patients, visitors, and staff.
Answer telephones promptly and courteously; direct calls to appropriate personnel and take messages.
Collect and distribute patient referral information received from affiliated physicians.
Escort visitors and patients to appropriate areas; provide information to assist patients and/or visitors.
Distribute departmental reading material such as Emergency Department brochures, Health Care Proxy and Patient Bill of Rights. Ensure documents are readily available.
Register patients by updating or entering demographic, financial, and emergency contact data into the computer system.
Verify demographic information and insurance coverage by interviewing patients/family members.
Generate patient charts, attaching pertinent information such as Emergency Card, Medicaid threshold and EMS sheets.
Review discharged patient charts for completeness of diagnosis, physician signature, dictation code, menu, and appropriate forms.
Process laboratory specimens, ensuring appropriate labeling and documentation.
File charts and retrieve old records.
Retrieve completed charts, address folders and all supporting documents from patient treatment areas.
Enter data into required computerized systems.
Maintain patient recall files.
Stamp paperwork appropriately per policy and procedures.
Log patients on/in to appropriate registration sheets and reconcile log books.
Obtain signatures for consent.
Make clinic appointments.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Shared Duties And Responsibilities Across Department

Maintain a safe, clean, and functional environment, removing trash and reporting equipment problems.
Transport patients on stretchers or wheelchairs as required.

Qualifications
High school graduate or GED.
6–9 months of health‑care experience preferred.
Certified Application Counselor designation, authorized by NYS DOH, preferred if duties are related to financial assistance program.
