Overview

Patient Care Representative - New York Eye and Ear at Mount Sinai Morningside. The Patient Care Representative is responsible for reception and initial service to arriving patients, including registration, updating demographic and financial information, and other duties as assigned. Responsibilities

Greet and direct patients, visitors, and staff. Answer telephones promptly and courteously; direct calls to appropriate personnel or departments, take messages, and ensure delivery. Collect and distribute patient referral information from affiliated physicians. Escort visitors and patients to appropriate areas; provide information to assist patients and visitors. Distribute departmental materials (e.g., Emergency Department brochure, Health Care Proxy, Patient Bill of Rights) and ensure documents are readily available. Register patients by updating or entering demographic, financial information and emergency contact data into the computer system. Verify demographic information and insurance coverage by interviewing patients or their representatives. Schedule appointments and file and retrieve charts/records. Deposit and reconcile all cash entries against deposits. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications

High school graduate or GED; Associates degree preferred. 1 year of health care patient reception or related experience preferred. Employer Information
