Area Supervisor

General Purpose
The Area Supervisor is a member of Store Leadership responsible for a specific area of the Store and for general operations and supervision when acting as Manager on Duty. Key duties include opening and closing the Store, supervising Associates, maintaining merchandise presentation and a clean, safe environment, and executing company operational processes. Essential Functions
Maintaining Safe & Secure Environments
Practice safest behaviors and maintain highest safety awareness on the sales floor. Correct or report unsafe conditions promptly, ensuring security of building and customer safety. Handle building entrance/exit control, electronic article surveillance checks, cash office security, and armored carrier pick‑ups. Ensure clear egress to emergency exits and maintain clear fire alarm systems. Customer Service
Treat all customers, associates and leaders with respect and professionalism. Demonstrate courtesy, friendliness and professionalism and recognize associate performance. Personal and Store Brand
Support and represent the Company brand; maintain professional appearance per dress code. Keep all store areas clean and merchandised to standard; manage daily trash removal. General Merchandising
Recover, size and markdown merchandise to company standards; handle receiving of merchandise trucks. Process inbound merchandise quickly and efficiently, including non‑merchandise items. Maintain cleanliness and organization of stockrooms; manage back‑stock security and processing. Ensure compliance with monthly presentation guidelines and promote merchandising of all departments. Loss Prevention
Execute loss prevention awareness program and maintain strong customer and associate engagement. Safeguard confidential information, cash, credit card info and merchandise. Maintain Public View Monitor system and perform “Code 50” package inspections. Front End Supervision and Operations
Ensure Associates execute front‑end procedures to company standards. Manage line pace and customer wait time; train associates on cash handling, shortage control and front‑end best practices. Control associate break schedule and maintain equipment functionality. Teach “Scan and Bag” best practice and manage merchandise salability on front‑end areas. Fitting Rooms
Maintain cleanliness and audit garment tags in fitting rooms. Ensure go‑back compliance and proper tracking of returned merchandise. Administrative Duties (as Assigned by Store Manager)
Conduct cash pulls, bank deposits and front‑end control procedures. Administer payroll, time‑card edits and scheduling compliance. Other duties as assigned by Store Manager. Competencies

Excellent verbal communication skills; fluency in English. Prior customer service and supervisory experience preferred. Familiarity with point‑of‑sale equipment and applications. Basic math skills for retail environments. Availability for evenings and weekends. Physical Requirements / ADA
Use all store equipment; stand, walk and move around the store up to 100% of the time. Regularly bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach and stoop; occasionally push or lift more than 25 lbs. Stockroom shifts may require moving more than 20 lbs. Disclaimer
