Overview

Examiner Physician Assistant role at Loyal Source Government Services. The Examiner will conduct Compensation & Pension (C&P) Examinations for Veterans applying for VA disability compensation. Responsibilities include reviewing claims, performing focused assessments of claimed injuries, reviewing medical records, and potentially rendering medical opinions based on record review and C&P exam. Charting from home may be required. Each examiner contributes to the Veteran's experience by delivering an exceptional examination experience. Responsibilities

Conduct Comprehensive Medical Disability Examinations: perform thorough evaluations of Veterans, including reviewing medical history, performing physical examinations, and assessing disability impact on daily life and function. 10% travel to other Loyal Source clinics. Review and Analyze Medical Records: assess medical records, test results, and documentation to understand the Veteran's medical history and health condition. Render Objective Medical Opinions: based on examination findings, results, and record review, provide unbiased medical opinions on the extent of health issues and impact on work and daily activities. Manage case work within the case management system, organize workload, submit examination findings, and communicate with QA team. Collaborate with healthcare professionals as needed to obtain additional information. Document Examination Findings: record findings in medical opinions and recommendations in reports following VA guidelines and contractual obligations. Coordinate with Loyal Source departments to meet deadlines and support tasks. Manage time and schedule for C&P exams; ensure availability and submission in a timely manner. Ensure Compliance and Quality: adhere to laws, regulations, and standards related to disability examinations; maintain accuracy, fairness, and quality. Work with QA team to submit thorough findings; comply with VA training requirements; stay updated on VA MDE program requirements. Maintain Confidentiality and HIPAA compliance; annual assessment for HIPAA knowledge is required. Qualifications

Education and Licensing: Graduated from an accredited Physician Assistant program; valid and unrestricted PA license in the United States; not barred from practicing in any state, the District of Columbia, or U.S. territories. Experience: at least 1 year as a Physician Assistant; prior experience in medical disability examinations or related field preferred. Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; renewals required. Military familiarity preferred. Specialized Training: training in Medical Disability Evaluations or occupational health is advantageous. Clinical Skills: proficiency in comprehensive medical assessments, interpreting diagnostic tests, and formulating medical opinions. Communication: strong verbal and written communication; ability to present findings clearly. Ethics and Integrity; detail-oriented; ability to work independently and in a team; strong organizational and time management; customer focus and sense of urgency; authorized to work in the United States for federal contractors. Additional requirements

Reasoning ability, technology proficiency (MS Word, MS Outlook, Adobe PDF, web-based platforms and electronic medical records systems; familiarity with Teams), physical requirements (standing/sitting, ability to lift up to 15 pounds, vision, hearing, mobility for exams), travel 10%, schedule Monday–Friday 8am–5pm; holidays clinics closed.
