North Carolina State University is hiring an electronics specialist for the Life Safety/Electronics‑Specialty Shop team. The role involves preventive maintenance, installations, and troubleshooting of fire detection, suppression, security, and monitoring systems across campus.

Anticipated Hiring Range: $26.44 an hour
Essential Job Duties
Conduct routine and preventive maintenance inspections on Life Safety Systems, Fire Detection and Suppression Systems, Security Systems, CCTV Systems, Equipment Monitoring Systems, and other electronic subsystems.
Install, maintain, and modify fire detection and suppression systems, Life Safety equipment, card access systems, CCTV, and equipment monitoring tools.
Respond to repair requests and troubleshoot issues with various electronic components to ensure systems operate at peak performance.
Coordinate with other teams and vendors to guarantee timely inspections and installations.
Requirements and Preferences
High School Diploma or completion of GED.
Experience working with security systems and CCTV systems.
Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to troubleshoot electronic systems.
Knowledge of safety codes and regulations related to Life Safety systems is preferred.
Experience working with fire alarm systems.
Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, contractors, and vendors.
