Job Overview Radiologic Technologist (RT) works with medical providers and assistants to perform x‑ray services, analyze images, and support patient care management. The role includes clinical and administrative responsibilities in an urgent care setting.
Responsibilities
Perform and analyze patient x-rays, apply x‑ray energy for diagnosis and treatment of patients age newborn to elderly.
Collaborate with providers, assistants, and patients to support clinical procedures and patient flow.
Maintain medical records, scan charts, and support documentation of image production and quality.
Prepare patients for examination, conduct interviews, verify medical history, and perform vital sign checks.
Conduct point‑of‑care testing as needed (flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, HCG).
Support clinic operations, including equipment maintenance, quality assurance logs, and preventive maintenance.
Adhere to radiation safety protocols (ALARA) and infection control procedures.
Communicate imaging results to providers and retrieve images for interpretation.
Qualifications
High School Diploma required; graduate of an approved Radiologic Technologist program required.
Experience in a clinical setting preferred.
BLS (Basic Life Support) at time of hire.
ARRT registration required at time of hire.
State licensure as RT required at time of hire (if applicable).

Essential Functions
Responsible for x‑ray services as needed; ensure patients positioned correctly and protected.
Push patient in wheelchair if needed.
Document daily controls and calibration of equipment; maintain QA/QC logs.
Patient Preparation and Rooming
Inform technical staff of patient flow; prepare patients for examination and conduct interviews.
Perform preliminary physical test (BP, weight, temperature) for vital signs and escalating critical cases.
Conduct point‑of‑care testing and provide patient information to provider.
Administrative
Maintain medical records and scan charts; conduct courtesy call‑backs for patient follow‑up.
Follow operating instructions for equipment maintenance and preventive maintenance.
Submit repair tickets as needed.
Other Responsibilities
Collaborate with ordering/treating provider to determine procedures for accurate diagnoses.
Explain procedures to patients, ensuring comfort and safety.
Accurately position patients and equipment for optimal imaging.
Adjust radiographic controls for high‑quality images.
Implement ALARA radiation safety protocols.
Maintain accurate patient records and log completed procedures.
Verify image quality and send images to radiologists for interpretation.
Knowledge
Knowledge of X‑ray procedures and protocols; anatomy and physiology; radiology equipment and safety hazards.
Skills
Position patients properly; identify equipment problems; follow infection control and radiological safety procedures.
