About the Team Workday’s Consulting teams are driven by a passion for our products and the success of our customers in implementing our best in class cloud solutions. Role Overview As a Principal Functional Consultant, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful implementation of Workday’s product solutions. You will provide implementation expertise to our clients while understanding how to best configure and test Workday solutions to meet their business requirements.
Responsibilities
Master at least 2 modules in the Workday HCM product suite (HCM Core, Compensation and Benefits)
Understand client business requirements, configure the Workday solution, develop prototype systems, and assist the client in testing the solution
Help convert legacy data into Workday
Assist the Integration team in configuring and testing integrations between Workday and third‑party or custom solutions
Apply Workday’s Implementation Methodology on all engagements
Ensure the client takes advantage of Workday’s proven solutions
Mentor and share product knowledge with other consultants
Basic Qualifications
Principal HCM Implementation Consultant experience
Prior experience implementing Workday (minimum 7+ years for HCM Core, benefits, or recruiting)
Previous consulting experience with a consulting/software company required
Additional Qualifications
Workday HCM Certification a plus
Ability to learn technology quickly through instruction and self‑training
Excellent time management and organizational skills, enabling prioritization and management of multiple initiatives
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to tailor style to diverse audiences
Strong mentorship and partnership skills, fostering a collaborative and positive environment
Strong relationship management and influencing skills, driving consensus and collaboration with stakeholders
Ability to travel up to 30% of the time
Workday Pay Transparency Statement Primary Location: USA.IL.Home Office Chicago Metro. Base Pay Range: $147,400 USD – $221,100 USD. Additional US locations: $133,300 USD – $236,800 USD. Eligible for Workday Bonus Plan or role‑specific commission/bonus and annual refresh stock grants.
Our Approach to Flexible Work With Flex Work, we combine the best of both worlds: in‑person time and remote. We require spending at least half (50%) of time each quarter in the office or field with customers, prospects, and partners.
