Indirect Tax – Unclaimed Property and Escheat Services – Manager
Location: Anywhere in Country
Join EY’s globally integrated team of dedicated indirect tax professionals and help identify risks and sustainable planning opportunities for clients. This role focuses on unclaimed property and escheat compliance, audit defense, and consulting. You will lead client engagements, develop relationships, coach junior staff, and implement best practices.
Your Key Responsibilities
Engage in client consultations and challenge unclaimed property and escheat approaches for effectiveness.
Develop strong relationships with clients and coordinate with internal resources.
Coach and develop junior team members.
Apply extensive knowledge of unclaimed property concepts and requirements to deliver solutions.
Operate in a highly collaborative culture, exchanging information with colleagues.
Skills And Attributes for Success
Provide timely and responsive services and work products to increase client satisfaction.
Stay informed of current technical developments and apply knowledge to client situations.
Analyze information thoroughly and accurately, prepare practical approaches, and reach appropriate conclusions.
Demonstrate understanding of complex unclaimed property concepts.
Contribute to team goals.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of related work experience.
CPA certification, US Bar membership, or professional designation from the Institute of Professional Tax.
Technical expertise in compliance, audit defense, and consulting for abandoned/unclaimed property services.
Performance and process advisory experience related to unclaimed property compliance.
Broad exposure to state and local taxation.
Excellent managerial, organizational, analytical, and verbal/written communication skills.
Willingness to travel as needed and work in a balanced hybrid environment.
Preferred Background
Minimum of 5 years of relevant unclaimed property consulting experience within a professional services environment.
What We Offer Comprehensive compensation and benefits package, including medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k), and paid time off. Salary range for this role is $105,100 – $192,600 nationwide (adjusted to local markets).
