Essential Functions
Provide security to assure the safety and well‑being of YRS Site participants/staff during work shift.
Complete a minimum of two Interior and Exterior Security Perimeter Checks per shift, including a thorough review of all vehicles.
Remain current with all SmarterU and ADP LMS online training and with dual in‑person/online trainings, including CPI Training annually and CPR/First Aid training biennially.
Assist YRS Directors/PMs with updating YRS Site Emergency Plans and running/recording emergency drills for CARF Quality Review.
Complete Daily Staff Communications (DSCs), listing at least one activity per hour of each workday.
Always carry a charged walkie‑talkie during the shift.
Assist in ensuring the interior of the YRS Site is safe/secure during a protest, regardless of whether the protest occurs at the assigned site.
Complete other safety and security related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent General Education Diploma
Minimum two (2) years of experience in security or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certifications and Licenses
A valid driver's license is encouraged but not required.
A Permanent Employee Registration Card (PERC) through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Responsibility (IDFPR).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Excellent communication skills and a strong ability to build relationships with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and diplomacy.
High degree of collaboration, emotional intelligence, self‑motivation, and analytical ability.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer, Outlook/Exchange, Windows operating systems, and other software routinely used by HHCS.
Problem‑solving ability in varied situations with limited standardization.
Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Strategic thought partnership and consultancy skills.
Work Arrangement This role is an “in person” position only.
Work Environment
Noise level is usually moderate.
Each program site operates 24/7, 365 days per year; employees are required to be flexible in scheduling and location.
SS IIs may be required to report to any YRS Site on a temporary or permanent basis.
Physical Demands
Regularly required to talk, hear, sit, stand, walk and stoop, kneel, and/or crawl.
Regularly required to use hands to key, handle, feel, and reach with hands and arms.
Occasional lifting or moving of up to 25 pounds.
Must be able to perform CPI techniques with participants when needed.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to focus.
