Century Group is partnering with a client seeking a Controller to join their team. Compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary of $140,000 to $190,000 per year.
Job Responsibilities
Direct all accounting functions, including payables, receivables, billing, payroll, and trust account management.
Prepare accurate monthly financial statements and performance reports for leadership review.
Manage cash flow, working capital, and treasury activities to ensure financial stability.
Lead the annual budgeting process and produce rolling forecasts with variance analysis.
Oversee billing operations and collections, ensuring compliance with client guidelines and improving revenue cycle efficiency.
Requirements
Advanced proficiency in accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
Strong leadership skills with experience supervising accounting and billing teams.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results under tight deadlines.
Excellent communication skills for interacting with attorneys and senior leadership.
Familiarity with trust accounting regulations and compliance requirements.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; CPA or MBA.
A minimum of 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years in a management role.
Prior experience in a law firm or professional services environment.
Expertise in GAAP, tax compliance, and trust/IOLTA accounting practices.
Proficiency with legal accounting software such as Clio, QuickBooks, or similar platforms.
