Tax Manager
– Denver, Colorado | Full-Time | Active CPA required
About the Role The Tax Manager will oversee complex tax compliance and planning for a diverse client base. The role involves reviewing returns, leading projects, serving as a trusted advisor to clients, and mentoring junior staff. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail‑oriented, and confident managing multiple engagements at once.
Key Responsibilities
Lead federal, state, and local tax compliance for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and trusts
Review complex returns for accuracy and compliance
Provide strategic tax planning and consulting services
Manage, develop, and review work of staff and senior‑level team members
Conduct tax research and stay current on regulatory changes
Support clients during IRS/state audits and correspondence
Strengthen client relationships through strong communication and service
Qualifications
Active CPA license required (Colorado or reciprocity eligible)
5+ years of tax experience in public accounting or similar environment
Strong knowledge of federal and Colorado tax laws
Proven experience managing complex returns and client engagements
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
Proficiency with major tax software and Microsoft Excel
Preferred Experience
Multi‑state tax exposure
Strong client advisory skills
Experience with pass‑through entities
