Senior Business Development Manager, Late‑Stage Private & Public Company Services
Fenwick is seeking a Senior Business Development Manager to support continued growth and market positioning of our late‑stage private and public company practices. The role will focus on strengthening the visibility and integration of our Capital Markets, M&A, Litigation, and Regulatory practices as part of Fenwick’s full‑service platform for technology and life sciences companies. The Sr. Manager will work closely with practice leadership and alongside business development managers to convey the firm’s strengths to the market and lead coordinated business plans and go‑to‑market strategies.
Responsibilities
Support practice group leaders in assessing business development needs, developing practice plans and budgets, and identifying cross‑marketing opportunities.
Meet with partners to implement business plans, identify targets, develop pursuit strategies, and monitor pursuit efforts.
Initiate and implement new tactics to improve BD services and firm’s business development efforts.
Ensure sales materials, pitches and proposals highlight the firm’s attributes.
Develop strategies and content for targeted events, sponsorships, speaking engagements, and thought leadership.
Collaborate with Recruiting and Practice Development teams to create lateral integration plans and onboard partners, integrating their clients into the firm.
Develop and maintain metrics focusing on BD behavior, efficiency, and demonstrating the value of the BD program.
Mentor BD team members, support professional development, and promote a positive work environment.

Exemplary communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to capture and describe complex topics.
Strong desire to learn about law firm business development, the firm’s legal practices, and client industries.
Affinity for technology and innovative marketing and BD efforts.
Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to anticipate and solve problems.
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage expectations of attorneys.
Strong customer service ethic and interpersonal skills.
Highly organized, efficient, and detail‑oriented with excellent proofreading.
Advanced search, data collection, reporting, CRM, and research database skills.
Advanced Excel and proficiency in MS Office suite.
Stays productive under pressure with tight deadlines.
Self‑motivated and able to work independently.
Reporting and Requirements Reporting to the Director of Business Development and supervising BD team members, the candidate must have 10+ years of legal or professional services business development experience, team management experience, and strong knowledge of public companies and litigation. Bachelor's degree required; M.B.A or J.D. preferred.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $153,000 – $228,750, plus discretionary bonus based on performance.
