The selected candidate
Hands‑on design and implementation of scalable data pipelines, ETL processes, and data warehousing solutions aligned with the Azure Well‑Architected Framework (WAF) pillars.
Accountable for a suite of high‑complexity data models, ensuring quality through strong data‑modelling standards.
Drive best practices for data security, privacy, and integrity.
Ensure reliability and efficiency of data infrastructure in Azure cloud.
Understand AI‑driven data engineering tools; build AI‑ready use cases and ensure data availability.
Collaborate with business units to define and deliver business value, and communicate with program teams, management, and stakeholders on large, complex projects.
Your Key Responsibilities Include
Lead production of high‑quality data engineering deliverables, meet project timelines, and mentor junior team members.
Design, develop, and implement ETL processes for diverse data sources, ensuring high quality and deliverable standards.
Define future‑state data architectures aligned with industry best practices and organizational needs.
Design Data Architecture strategy, evaluate current enterprise architecture, and recommend enhancements.
Translate requirements into detailed design specifications and solution architecture delivery.
Implement data management strategies aligned with business objectives.
Lead data quality reviews, data cleansing, and ensure integrity and quality.
Resolve data quality, integration, and migration issues, demonstrating technical leadership.
Provide leadership for the work group, ensuring appropriate expectations, principles, structures, tools, and responsibilities.
Analyze industry trends such as cloud computing and distributed processing, evaluating their potential impact.
Offer advanced technical expertise to maximize efficiency, reliability, and value from current data engineering processes.
Research and monitor emerging technologies to identify new product opportunities.
Build strong relationships across engineering teams to develop leading data engineering solutions.
Drive adherence to data engineering and data modeling standards, and contribute to technology standard definitions.
Skills And Attributes For Success
Design and implement data architecture solutions using the Azure WAF pillars.
Create Azure Infrastructure Architecture Diagrams (IAD) that clearly represent data solutions.
Efficiently extract high‑volume structured and unstructured data with automated CDC.
Design ingestion strategies for batch and stream processing across transactional systems.
Design and implement models and solutions for data validation, quality, and profiling.
Develop complex data models and storage solutions, ensuring quality and scalability.
Design data consumption mechanisms using APIs, virtualization, and visualization tools.
Establish data governance frameworks, including cataloguing, lineage, classification, MDM, and exploration.
Implement robust authentication and authorization mechanisms for data security.
Develop and manage data integration strategies, including ETL processes for seamless data flow.
Required Technical Skills
Hands‑on experience building Data Architecture using patterns such as Data Mesh, Data Fabric, Data Lakehouse, Data Observability, and Data as a Service (DaaS).
Proficient in Azure services (Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL Database, Azure Synapse Analytics).
Experience building data orchestration with Azure Data Factory, Function App, and Logic App.
Proficient in SQL and familiar with Python and Java.
Extensive experience with Databricks performance optimization, ingestion, transformation, and consumption.
Design and building Data Platforms integrating disparate data sources.
Design authentication and authorization methods to ensure data security.
Expertise in MPP designs for high‑performance analytics.
Expertise in Azure, Azure Data Bricks, Azure SQL, Spark.
Developing dataflows using NiFi/ADF, Databricks.
Advanced hands‑on design and implementation of large analytic warehouses.
Hands‑on experience with Spark architecture and implementation.
Experience with distributed messaging systems like Kafka.
Hands‑on experience with Python, PySpark, or R.
Expert in crafting complex SQL queries and procedures.
Understanding of big data and distributed architecture.
Ingestion workflow creation with Oozie or similar tools.
Knowledge of security measures such as HTTPS and Kerberos.
Beneficial Technical Skills
Azure Data Lake Store, Databricks Delta Lakes.
Experience using NoSQL databases.
Advanced analytics, ML, and AI.
Knowledge of graph databases, preferably Neo4j, Cypher, and CosmosDB.
Experience developing microservices.
Education
B.E./M.S. in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Data Science, Engineering, IT, or related field.
Big Data Certification from Cloudera, Hortonworks, or Databricks.

What We Offer You The compensation ranges below are provided in order to comply with United States pay transparency laws. Other geographies will follow their local salary guidelines.
Base salary for this role in the U.S. ranges from $145,500 to $280,000. In the New York City metro area, Washington State, and California (excluding Sacramento) the base salary ranges from $174,500 to $318,200.
Individual salaries within those ranges are determined by a variety of factors including education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography.
We offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical and dental coverage, pension, 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off.
Hybrid work model: most external, client‑serving roles work together in person 40‑60% of the time.
Flexible vacation policy to accommodate personal circumstances, with paid holidays, season breaks, personal/family care, and other leaves.
