A confidential organization in the Miami metropolitan area is seeking an experienced
Transportation Engineering Director
to lead roadway, bridge, structures, and tolling/expressway engineering programs. This role oversees capital improvement planning, engineering operations, project delivery, and multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
Lead engineering staff, project managers, and subconsultants across transportation disciplines.
Oversee program management, capital plan execution, and contract administration.
Manage roadway, bridge, structures, tolling systems, and limited-access facility projects.
Support construction, traffic/ITS, maintenance, and right-of-way activities.
Guide development of Capital and Transportation Improvement Plans.
Conduct constructability and bid‑ability reviews.
Provide recommendations on federal, state, and local transportation policy issues.
Track and project capital expenditures (Program Controls).
Analyze technical and administrative challenges and define solutions.
Required Qualifications
10+ years
of engineering experience in transportation infrastructure.
2+ years
in a Director‑level or senior engineering leadership role.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
(Civil preferred).
Active Florida Professional Engineer (P.E.) license
— Required.
Technical expertise in: Roadway and bridge/structures
Tolling/expressway systems
Limited‑access facilities
FDOT‑related project environments
Preferred Background
Previous leadership within FDOT Districts, expressway authorities, or major engineering consulting firms.
Strong management, communication, and team leadership skills.
