Selected Candidate Requirements

Hands‑on design and implementation of scalable data pipelines, ETL processes, and data warehousing solutions aligned with Azure Well‑Architected Framework (WAF) pillars.

Accountable for a suite of data models with relatively high complexity, leveraging a strong understanding of data modelling standards to ensure high quality.

Drive best practices for data security, data privacy, and data integrity.

Ensure reliability and efficiency of data infrastructure in the Azure cloud.

Understand AI‑driven data engineering tools and work on building cutting‑edge AI‑ready use cases.

Work with other departments across the business to help define and deliver business value, and interface with program teams, management and stakeholders to deliver large, complex projects.

Key Responsibilities

Lead production of high‑quality data engineering deliverables, ensuring project timelines are met and mentoring junior team members.

Lead design, development and implementation of ETL processes to extract data from disparate sources into a form consumable by analytics.

Develop and define future‑state data architectures aligned with industry best practices and organizational needs.

Design Data Architecture strategy, assess enterprise existing architecture and devise recommendations for modern data platform.

Translate requirements, design and solution architecture deliverables into detailed design specifications.

Define and implement data management strategies aligned with business objectives.

Lead data quality reviews, including cleaning, to ensure integrity and quality.

Resolve issues regarding data quality, cleansing, integration and migration, leveraging advanced technical knowledge and showing leadership.

Provide a leadership role for the work group, ensuring appropriate expectations, principles, structures, tools and responsibilities are in place to deliver the project.

Analyze industry trends such as cloud computing and distributed processing and infer potential impact on businesses.

Provide advanced technical expertise to maximize efficiency, reliability and value from current data engineering processes, research and monitor emerging technologies for new product opportunities.

Develop strong relationships with peers across engineering to deliver leading data engineering solutions.

Drive adherence to data engineering and data modelling processes, procedures, standards and provide input into technology standards.

Skills and Attributes for Success

Data Architecture: Design and implement solutions leveraging Azure Well‑Architected Framework (cost optimization, operational excellence, performance efficiency, reliability, security).

Infrastructure Architecture Diagrams: Create Azure Infrastructure Architecture Diagrams visually representing data solutions.

Data Extraction: Design efficient extraction of high‑volume structured and unstructured data with automation CDC capability.

Data Ingestion: Design efficient ingestion strategy for batch and stream processing of all source data.

Data Processing: Design and implement models, capabilities and solutions for data validation, quality, profiling.

Data Modeling: Create and produce high‑complexity data models following data modelling standards.

Data Store: Design storage models, migration strategies across systems.

Data Consumption: Design consumption mechanisms with APIs, virtualization and visualization tools.

Data Governance: Design governance with catalog, lineage, classification, MDM, exploration.

Data Security: Design authentication and authorization methods to ensure security.

Data Integration: Manage orchestration, ETL processes for seamless data flow.

Required Technical Skills

Hands‑on experience building Data Architecture using patterns like Data Mesh, Data Fabric, Data Lakehouse, Data Observability & Data as a Service (DaaS).

Proficiency in Azure services such as Data Lake, SQL Database, Synapse Analytics.

Experience building data orchestration through Azure Data Factory, Function App, Logic App.

Proficient in SQL and familiar with Python, Java.

Extensive experience with Databricks performance optimization (ingestion, transformation, consumption).

Experience designing and building Data Platforms integrating disparate sources.

Experience in authentication/authorization methods for data security.

Expertise in MPP designs for large database performance.

Expertise in Azure, Azure Data Bricks, Azure SQL, Spark.

Expertise in dataflows using NiFi/ADF, Databricks.

Advanced design and implementation experience of analytic warehouses.

Experience with Spark architecture and implementation.

Experience with distributed message systems like Kafka.

Hands‑on experience with Python, PySpark or R.

Expertise in complex SQL queries and procedures.

Understanding of big data and distributed architecture.

Experience creating ingestion workflows using Oozie or similar tools.

Knowledge of security measures such as HTTPS and Kerberos.

Beneficial Technical Skills

Azure Data Lake Store, Databricks Delta Lakes.

Experience using NoSQL databases.

Advanced Analytics, ML and AI.

Knowledge of Graph Databases, notably Neo4j, Cypher, CosmosDB.

Experience developing Microservices.

Education

B.E./M.S. in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Data Science, Engineering, IT, or related field preferred.

Big Data Certification from Cloudera, Hortonworks, Databricks.

Compensation and Benefits The compensation ranges below are provided in order to comply with United States pay transparency laws. Other geographies will follow their local salary guidelines, which may not be a direct conversion of published US salary ranges. We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $145,500 to $280,000. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $174,500 to $318,200. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography.

In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.

Join us in our team‑led and leader‑enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client‑serving roles to work together in person 40‑60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.

Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances.
