Job Description
The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) represents the face of the company to patients who arrive for routine health services or important diagnostic procedures.
The PSR I greets patients, answers questions with care and compassion, maintains the integrity of the waiting area, and assists with workflow when Phlebotomists are unavailable.
This role includes training opportunities in Phlebotomy for growth within the company.
The PSR I creates an atmosphere of trust and confidence, ensuring patients understand what to expect while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy of patient information.
Responsibilities
Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
Maintain a safe and professional environment.
Maintain required records and documentation.
Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
Assist patients with check-ins using self-service kiosks or handheld tablets.
Learn Phlebotomy skills to support team needs during downtimes or breaks.
Once trained, perform clinical and forensic specimen collection and processing following established procedures.
Requirement / Must Have
Ability to handle patients with care and compassion.
Strong customer service experience and skills (critical to the role).
Willingness to learn Phlebotomy skills.
Ability to maintain professionalism and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
Keyboard/data entry experience.
Nice to Have
Prior experience in healthcare or patient-facing roles (not required).
Early exposure to clinical environments or medical office workflows.
Skills
Customer service.
Patient interaction and communication.
Data entry and basic computer proficiency.
Willingness to learn Phlebotomy procedures.
Qualification and Education
High school diploma or equivalent (Required).
1–2 years of client-facing customer service experience (Retail, Home Health Aide, etc.) required.
No prior Phlebotomy experience required.
