Mortgage Field Services Inspector –

FAR INSPECTIONS

FAR Inspections is looking for a Mortgage Field Services Inspector to perform residential occupancy verifications on behalf of mortgage lenders. Independent contractors earn predictable full-time or supplemental income and enjoy a flexible schedule. Experience with mortgage field inspections is not required, but the ability to manage time and meet deadlines is crucial. The role is based in Reno, NV, and FAR Inspections has been in business for over 9 years. Occupancy Verification

Mortgage lenders require periodic updates on their properties. The purpose of the inspection is to verify property occupancy and report the general condition of the property using a mobile application. Most inspections are exterior only; about 10% require interior photos after the property has gone vacant. Inspectors are contracted at the county level and are responsible for completing all inspections in their assigned county. In some cases, a county may be split between two inspectors if volume warrants. Responsibilities

Most common type of inspection should only take 5–6 minutes. Complete the inspection within 4 days after it is assigned. Report general property conditions and determine occupancy based on industry standards. Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments. Complete a short form in an app. Be able to spend extended periods of time driving while making numerous stops during the day in the assigned territory. Requirements

Computer with an internet connection. Reliable vehicle (good gas mileage is a plus as you will be paying for your own gas). Smartphone (Android or iPhone). Printer. Pass a standard background check with a valid driver’s license. Pay and Hours

This is a 1099 position. Each inspection has a flat rate, varying based on county and volume. Although you are paid per inspection, you will earn the equivalent of $30–$40 per hour. Depending on the county and whether it is urban or rural you will complete anywhere from 20 to 500 inspections per month, working 2–30 hours per week. There is no set amount of inspections per month, but the work is consistent month-to-month. Earn more as you become established, have greater availability, or are willing to cover a larger territory. No additional mileage reimbursement above the flat fee per inspection.
