West Region Transportation Program Management Services Lead HDR

The West Region Transportation Program Management Services Lead will serve as the primary client‑facing leader for the Program Management Business Class. The role coordinates multi‑disciplinary teams, supports program delivery and growth, and advances HDR’s positioning as a preferred services provider in the West Region.

Responsibilities

Support efforts to coordinate and manage quality and best practices used across the program management business class.

Collaborate with HDR’s Transportation Program Management Director and other team leaders on positioning and delivery of projects and develop long‑term tactical plans to serve client and company needs.

Work closely with Area and Market Sector leadership to achieve yearly booking goals and drive growth of program management in the West Region.

Coordinate staffing requirements for high‑quality project delivery, including work‑sharing coordination.

Manage internal and external client relationships.

Provide pursuit and proposal preparation support.

Support certain programs in Project Director or PIC roles.

Identify and develop staff for future program‑management leadership opportunities.

Collaborate with each King Region area to determine program‑management priorities, progress, pursuits and support needs.

Attend Business Class technical leadership meetings.

Serve as a reviewer for the TransPARR process.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience developing and managing diverse teams.

Collaborative work with regional leads, operations managers, technical directors and marketing managers.

Commitment to quality, improvement and HDR values.

Engagement in professional or industry associations to enhance technical expertise and brand.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Sciences, Planning, Business Administration or a closely related field.

One of the following licenses or certifications: Professional Engineering License, PMI Project Management Professional (PMP), PMI Program Management Professional (PgMP), AICP Certification, or CMAA Certified Construction Manager (CCM).

Minimum ten (10) years of program management experience, with at least four (4) years as a Senior Program Manager and leadership on three or more programs each valued at $500 million or more (or concurrent programs totaling $500 million).

Strong leadership skills with experience building cohesive team culture across distributed locations.

Excellent communication skills – comfortable presenting to client executives and in front of large audiences.

Management experience with alternative delivery methods such as design‑build, progressive design‑build and construction management at‑risk.

Familiarity with PMIS, CMIS, scheduling, cost control, document management, risk management and dashboard analytics.

Experience working in an integrated Program Management Office that includes both consultant and client staff.

Compensation and Benefits The expected compensation range for this position depends on skills, experience, education and geographic location: California $233,799–$333,970; Hawaii $188,822–$269,745; Nevada $179,830–$256,900; Montana $161,847–$231,210; Washington $207,477–$280,663. Temporary and part‑time roles may qualify for a limited benefits package.
