Research Data Analyst, School of Public Health, Epidemiology

Boston University Medical Campus – Professional, located in Boston, MA, United States. Position type: Full-Time/Regular. Salary range: $62,525.00 – $81,200.00. The primary responsibilities of the Research Data Analyst will be to apply advanced analytic methods to data from a large, prospective cohort study: Pregnancy Study Online (PRESTO). You will conduct data analysis, assist researchers with their analyses and manuscripts, manage data and documentation, perform quality control, and engage in statistical programming using SAS, R, Excel, and Access. Additionally, you will prepare datasets for external investigators, conduct birth registry linkage, present data in tabular or graphical form, support conference presentations, generate data tables and figures for journal manuscripts, and produce preliminary data for grant proposals. This is an in‑person/on‑premises role with occasional remote work possibilities based on business impact. Required qualifications and skills: Master’s degree in public health, epidemiology or biostatistics required; alternatively, at least 3 years of full‑time work experience as a data analyst on an epidemiologic study can substitute for a master’s degree, requiring a bachelor’s degree. Solid background in epidemiology. Demonstrated skill using SAS, Access, Excel and data management to support the analysis project. Analytic experience and statistical knowledge to perform descriptive statistics, stratification and multivariable regression (linear, log‑binomial and Cox) using SAS. Experience with multiple imputations, spline regression, inverse probability weighting and measurement error correction. Extensive knowledge of study design, questionnaire design and development, and methodological issues related to bias and confounding. Experience writing and publishing scientific manuscripts as co‑author. Desire to work independently to deliver work of the highest quality.
