I and C Engineer – Career Level (Data Centers)
Base pay range: $95,200 – $130,900 per year.
Location: Any location in the United States (ideal to be near a Jacobs U.S. office).
About the Role We are seeking an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to design, optimize, and implement control systems for our clients’ industrial and commercial facilities. The role involves developing P&IDs, sizing valves, specifying instrumentation, documenting design information, and ensuring compliance with building codes and industry standards. You will also provide on‑site assistance during startup and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
Design and optimize control systems for various processes.
Develop P&IDs, size valves, and specify instrumentation.
Document and model design information.
Coordinate work activities with other team members and discipline leads.
Support on‑site startup and commissioning activities.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Control Systems, or Electrical Engineering.
At least 6 years of experience working with instrumentation and controls.
Proficient with PLC, DCS, and other controls applications.
Preferred Qualifications
Engineer in Training (EIT) designation.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Forward thinking and eagerness to learn best practices.
Ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary teams.
Passion for buildings and construction.
Experience mentoring junior professionals or leading small teams.
Experience with Data Center design.
