Facilities Manager
Position Overview: The Facilities Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, operation, and enhancement of facilities to ensure a safe, efficient, and effective environment for all users. This role involves coordinating various services including construction projects, mechanical and HVAC systems, and plumbing to maintain optimal functioning of the facility.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and oversee daily operations of the facility including maintenance, cleaning, and security services.
Develop and implement facility management procedures and policies to ensure compliance with safety regulations and operational standards.
Coordinate and manage commercial construction projects, ensuring they stay on schedule and within budget.
Conduct regular inspections of the facility to identify maintenance needs and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations.
Oversee mechanical systems, HVAC operations, and plumbing services to ensure they are functioning correctly and efficiently.
Maintain relationships with contractors, service providers, and suppliers to ensure high‑quality service delivery.
Prepare and manage the facility budget, including forecasting and reporting on financial performance.
Train and supervise facilities staff, promoting a safe and productive work environment.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Project Management, Engineering, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in facilities management or related roles, preferably in a university, hospital, laboratory, or government setting.
Strong knowledge of commercial construction, mechanical contracting, HVAC systems, and plumbing.
Certifications such as Certified Facility Manager (CFM) and Facility Management Professional (FMP) are preferred.
Proficient in project management and maintenance management software.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
