Position VP, US Field Market Access – Remote by Design
Position Summary The Vice President, US Field Market Access (MAx) is a senior leader responsible for shaping and executing strategies that ensure optimal patient access to BMS therapies across the U.S. market. This role drives enterprise‑level outcomes by influencing payer policy, optimizing gross‑to‑net (GTN) economics, and advancing innovative contracting models. The VP will lead a geographically dispersed team and collaborate across the matrix to deliver sustainable access solutions aligned with BMS’s mission to transform patients’ lives through science.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:
Define and execute U.S. field market access strategy to support portfolio growth and profitability; drive adoption of innovative contracting and value‑based agreements to enhance patient access; ensure alignment with enterprise priorities, including pricing, policy, and portfolio strategy.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration:
Partner closely with Commercial, Medical, HEOR, Policy, Finance, and Global MAx teams to deliver integrated access solutions; influence senior executives and external stakeholders to shape market dynamics and policy.
Talent Development & Organizational Effectiveness:
Build and sustain a high‑performing, inclusive team culture; lead succession planning and capability‑building initiatives to develop future‑ready talent; champion diversity, equity, and inclusion across all leadership practices.
Market & Data Insights:
Leverage analytics and payer insights to inform contracting strategies and decision‑making; monitor evolving market trends, policy changes, and competitive dynamics to anticipate challenges and opportunities.
Qualifications & Experience
10 years of progressive experience in Market Access, Payer Strategy /Account Management, Commercial Operations, and/or HEOR within biopharmaceuticals.
Proven experience leading large geographically dispersed teams across customer segments.
Demonstrated success in securing profitable access for portfolios in complex environments; strong negotiation, stakeholder management, and executive influence skills.
Deep understanding of U.S. healthcare systems, payers, policy, and contracting; expertise in contracting economics, GTN impact, and policy navigation.
Strategic thinking, sound business judgment, and excellent communication skills.
Strong leadership ability with a track record of developing and motivating high‑performing teams.
Willingness to travel as required for business needs.
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
Proven experience leveraging and/or implementing AI‑driven insights and digital tools to enhance customer engagement strategies, optimize HCP/patient experience, and drive data‑informed commercial decision‑making.
Compensation Overview $297,500 – $360,500
The starting compensation range for this role is listed above for a full‑time employee (FTE) basis. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility) may be available. Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.
