Technical Infrastructure Program Manager, Data Center Planning & Delivery
Job ID: 3140031 | Amazon Data Services, Inc.
We’re seeking an experienced Technical Infrastructure Program Manager in Herndon, VA, Seattle, WA or Berwick, PA to oversee data center build projects. The Technical Infrastructure Program Manager will lead cross‑functional and technical teams from conceptual design feasibility through scope and schedule creation, budget management, completed design, implementation, commissioning, and data center deployment. Along the way, you will use your judgment, critical thinking skills, ability to influence without authority, analytical talent, technical aptitude, and leadership to collaborate with a diverse set of stakeholders, eliminate non‑value‑add activities, design solutions, remove blockers, and find creative ways to accelerate project delivery.
The successful candidate will be a strong communicator (both written and verbal), be able to thrive amid ambiguity or competing priorities, and be capable of understanding mechanical/electrical engineering concepts. They will apply a variety of project management tools, methodologies, and techniques for all phases of the project lifecycle and exhibit demonstrated experience in core project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, resources, quality and risk management, reporting, and metric development/tracking. Other requirements include experience with MS Office, MS Project, and MS SharePoint. Experience with Tableau, KanBan, Playbook, SQL, and systems integration is a plus.
Key job responsibilities
Own and deliver end‑to‑end builds.
Work with stakeholder teams to map dependencies, create and drive schedules, and think big to solve some of our biggest challenges.
Be highly organized, detail‑oriented, and a problem solver with the ability to dive deep into critical path items.
Deliver capacity to our end customers in a high‑judgement role.
About the team
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure, supporting all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.
Basic Qualifications
3+ years of technical infrastructure management experience.
Knowledge of best practices and emerging technologies related to infrastructure (e.g., network, data center, hardware, software).
Experience with varying scenarios of infrastructure builds.
