Job Summary As a Supervisory Sales Associate you will be the face of our company to both the associates and our customers. You get to highlight our brand and image while contributing to building our reputation as a company that values its customers and their opinions. You will be directly responsible for assisting customers and helping them recognize the need for our products and services. You will also be a team leader to the associates ensuring the work environment is positive and productive. Duties and Responsibilities
Customer Service – Proactively engage and make a connection with customers, ask questions, listen, direct customers to merchandise, inform about promotions and events, provide premier customer service, cooperate and build inclusive relationships, take accountability for actions.
Organization – Maintaining store appearance.
Sales – Cross‑sell products, know store layout, make suggestions on latest trends, upsell, learn product features, use Point‑of‑Sales system, process cash and other payments, complete paperwork, reports, and reconcile.
Inventory – Keeper of merchandise, complete inventory processes, ensure proper ticketing, participate in periodic inventories, secure cash and fixed assets, provide direction on assignments.
Dependability – Adherence to work schedule, accurate and complete follow‑through on assignments.
Supervisory – Provide leadership, train and motivate associates, set positive example, coach and give feedback, manage work assignments, input to Department Manager on performance, may open/close locations.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Product knowledge: moderate level of knowledge of merchandise; provide training documentation to sales associates.
Experience: 1‑2 years retail or relevant experience required; 1 year lead or supervisory experience preferred.
Communication skills: strong interpersonal, written, spoken; read/write instruction documents; telephone etiquette.
Mathematical skills: basic functions, calculator use, make change.
Reasoning ability: multi‑task, attentive, flexible, team player, independent, de‑escalate conflicts.
Physical demands: constant moving, standing, lifting 25‑50 lbs, indoor/outdoor; vision requirements; stooping, kneeling, crouching, ladders.
Other skills: enthusiastic, friendly, energetic, desire to provide outstanding service.
Work hours: variety, early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays.
General experience: 1 year responsible in clerical office or retail sales store work of any kind needed to perform satisfactorily.
Specialized experience: 1 year progressively responsible experience in retail sales performing duties that constitute the principal work of the position.
Education substitution: college or university study above high school may substitute for experience on a proportional basis.
General Experience and Specialized Experience 1 year responsible experience in clerical office or retail sales store work of any kind needed to perform satisfactorily. 1 year progressively responsible experience in retail sales performing duties that constitute the principal work of the position. College or university study may replace experience on a proportional basis.
