Job Summary
Under the supervision of the UCSF Department of Surgery & Department of Medicine and guided by the policies and procedures, rules and regulations, and bylaws of the UCSF Medical Center, some Nursing Policies, and, Medical Staff Policies, and any unique to inpatient or ambulatory patient services (for those APPs providing services both in the inpatient and ambulatory environments) this Nurse Practitioner (NP) position is assigned to the Berkeley Cancer Outpatient Practice and Infusion Center. This APP position may perform delegated functions as appropriate to their “scope of practice”. In general, the “scope of practice” includes the management of chronic stable medical conditions, specialty protocols (e.g. chemotherapy), routine care, acute or critical care, and medical and surgical procedures. This position will provide outpatient care in approved age groups at UCSF Health settings. The APP has responsibility for the quality of standards of care for a specified patient population and evidences self‑direction and accountability in the development of this role within the all UCSF medical center locations. UCSF Health requires all Advanced Practice Providers (APP) to be credentialed through its Medical Staff Services Office (MSSO) in order to practice and function in their clinical role. This applies to both adult and pediatric APPs in the inpatient and outpatient clinical settings at all UCSF Health sites (Parnassus, Mt. Zion, Satellite Clinics, et al). Credentialing and approval of the Standardized Procedures takes between 30-60 days and must be completed prior to the first working day.
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. The salary range for this position is $100.48 - $130.31 (Hourly Rate). Required Qualifications
Two (2) to Five (5) years APP inpatient oncology experience in adult population
Two (2) years of APP outpatient Infusion Center experience in adult population
Demonstrated clinical experience in oncology care, including chemotherapy/biotherapy administration, patient education, and care coordination
Strong interpersonal skills
Skill to perform complex physical assessment
Triage skills
Problem solving ability
Ability to work well with all healthcare providers
This position requires the flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Health locations and in varying schedules as outlined
Preferred Qualifications
Two (2) years or greater NP experience in orthopaedics within the past five (5) years, including independent ambulatory patient encounters and surgical first assisting in total joint replacements
Specialty certification: RNFA
License/Certification
California driver's license (CDL) if required for position.
Current national certification from an accepted certifying agency and provided by first day of work.
Accepted Certifications for this position: Adult Outpatient (A-GNP-C, ANP-C, FNP-C, GNP-C, AGPCNP-BC, ANP-BC, FNP-BC, GNP-BC, ACNP-BC, AGACNP-BC, ACNPC-AG, ACNPC)
Current and active RN and NP and Furnishing license in California.
Complete a BRN recognized graduate master's degree program as a nurse practitioner.
Complete Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Registration with Schedules 2, 2N, 3, 3N, 4, and 5 registered to a California address
Submit enrollment with CMS Medicare and Medicaid through credentialing by first clinical day. CCS enrollment as appropriate for pediatric environments.
Current AHA BLS.
Additional required AHA certifications:
