Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with trauma, neuro, vascular, and ortho experience for a day shift position in an acute care hospital using Epic EMR.
Responsibilities
Position is in the Operating Room of an acute care hospital
Covers a mix of trauma, neuro, vascular, and orthopedic surgical cases
Day shifts (3x12 hrs) with start times at 7:00 or 9:00
Includes weekend shifts as required
May be required to work one night shift during contract as needed
On-call required, distributed every 6 weeks and may include up to 6-8 shifts covering nights, evenings, and weekends
Floating may be required between like units and across facilities within the state
Scrubs are provided
Free parking available for staff
Uses Epic EMR and prior Epic experience is required
Main responsibilities include assisting in surgical procedures across trauma, neuro, vascular, and ortho specialties
Expected to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary surgical team
All applicants must include all requested time off (RTO) with their application as RTO is restricted and must be approved in advance
Returning permanent staff must have a 3-month gap before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
Travelers who refuse to float between facilities or units may have their assignment terminated
Block scheduling accommodations are subject to manager discretion
Local candidates are accepted for this role
Requirements
Active CA RN license required at time of consideration
BLS certification required
Minimum of 2 years Operating Room RN experience required
Experience with trauma, neuro, vascular, and orthopedic surgical procedures required
Epic EMR experience required
First-time travelers will be considered
References from at least 2 supervisors covering 1 year of recent employment in a comparable specialty or setting
