Business Development Manager (Healthcare/Non-IT/ Life Science/ Pharma/Medical Device/ Engineering)
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise the pharmacy team, including pharmacists, technicians, and support staff, fostering a collaborative and professional work environment.
Provide training, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to enhance staff skills and knowledge.
Ensure that the pharmacy team operates with high standards of quality, safety, and customer service.
Develop, implement, and maintain pharmacy policies, procedures, and protocols in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Oversee medication procurement, storage, dispensing, and inventory management to ensure accuracy and availability of pharmaceuticals.
Manage the pharmacy budget, including forecasting, cost control, and resource allocation to support departmental goals and maintain operational excellence.
Ensure continuous quality improvement by monitoring performance metrics, conducting audits, and addressing identified issues.
Stay current with advancements in pharmacy practice, technology, and regulatory changes, and guide departmental innovation and compliance.
Implement and monitor medication therapy management and patient safety initiatives in collaboration with medical staff.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement medication management policies that align with organizational goals.
Optimize departmental resources and processes to improve patient outcomes and operational efficiency.
Minimum Qualifications
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited institution.
Current and unrestricted pharmacist license in the state of Louisiana.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive pharmacy experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
Strong knowledge of pharmacy laws, regulations, and accreditation standards.
Demonstrated experience in budget management and operational oversight within a healthcare setting.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and pharmacy information systems.
Advanced leadership training or certification (e.g., Certified Pharmacy Executive).
Experience working in a hospital or large healthcare system environment.
Proven track record of implementing quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs.
