role. You will manage the industrialization of Autopilot infotainment parts, including audio, telemetry, and sensors for low‑voltage TLA modules, and work closely with Tesla Engineering teams across automotive, energy, robotics, and data center domains.
What To Expect Supplier Industrial Engineer for Low Voltage TLA modules, responsible for scaling manufacturing at suppliers in collaboration with Tesla Engineering teams. Your role includes supplier selection, process improvement, and delivery of quality, cost, and performance objectives.
What You’ll Do
Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) initiatives and drive supplier improvements in scalability, cost, and quality.
Review 2D/3D CAD mechanical drawings and conduct Design for Manufacturability (DFM) with suppliers.
Execute qualification activities required for product release, including PPAP.
Accountable for supplier audits to ensure part performance, delivery, and reliability expectations.
Collaborate with Tesla Design, Quality, and Manufacturing to define performance specifications and supplier metrics.
Lead and track supplier manufacturing process development and launch readiness for new products and design changes.
Validate supplier corrective actions for design and process changes, ensuring robustness and sustainability.
Provide input on new or alternative materials for improved design, manufacturability, or cost reduction.
Demonstrate strong analytical, presentation, communication, problem‑solving, and interpersonal skills while working with international OEM/supplier teams.
Work independently under high pressure, with 50–60% travel and potential short‑notice travel.
What You’ll Bring
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Material/Manufacturing Engineering.
3–7 years of experience in automotive top‑level assembly component development.
Proficiency in Quality Systems, PPAP/APQP processes, DFMEA, PFMEA, and DFM.
Strong knowledge of GD&T, inspection, and manufacturing processes (plastic, metal, tooling).
Experience with automation assembly, EOL testing of electronic modules, and statistical tools such as SPC, Minitab, or JMP.
Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment and build effective supplier relationships.
Excellent team‑building skills and ability to interact with cross‑functional stakeholders.
Capability to learn and apply new tools, methods, and simulation techniques.
