Healthy Kids Programs – After School Program Director (2025-2026)
We are seeking a dynamic Director to lead our After School Program at Haldane Elementary School in Cold Spring, NY.
JOB STATUS:
Part‑Time, Non‑Exempt
LOCATION:
Haldane Elementary School, Cold Spring, NY
PAY:
$17.00 per hour
HOURS:
3:00 – 6:00 pm
Responsibilities
Guide compliance with OCFS guidelines, Healthy Kids policies, and school host rules.
Lead engaging, hands‑on activities based on the Healthy Kids Curriculum (fitness, STEAM, academics, arts) and oversee homework completion.
Manage essential tasks: maintain attendance/registration records and ensure adequate staffing.
Communicate with parents/families via the Playground App.
Collaborate with your direct report to share daily updates and address issues promptly.
Qualifications
Medical clearance from a doctor; free of communicable diseases including TB.
Warm, friendly, upbeat with exceptional people skills; professional, reliable, prompt.
Ready to bend, stretch, lift, carry up to 50 lbs., and keep up with energetic children.
Requirements EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Two years of college with 18 credits in Child Development, Elementary Education, Physical Education, Recreation or related field; and two years of direct experience with children
OR A New York State Children’s Program Administrator Credential plus two years of direct experience with children
OR A School‑Age Child Care Credential or another office‑recognized credential specific to the school‑age developmental period plus two years of direct experience with children
OR An Associate’s degree in Child Development, Elementary Education, Physical Education, Recreation or related field plus two years of direct experience with children Part‑Time Benefits
