About the Role My client, an industrial products manufacturer, is seeking a motivated Maintenance Manager with strong mechanical skills and leadership experience. You’ll oversee maintenance teams, preventive maintenance, and equipment reliability in a fast‑paced environment.
Key Duties
Lead and supervise a team of 6 Maintenance Technicians
Hands on position, mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repair
Plan, schedule, and prioritize daily and preventive maintenance activities
Ensure timely troubleshooting and repair of all industrial process equipment
Maintain accurate maintenance and repair documentation
Manage inventory of critical spare parts and maintenance supplies
Oversee installation and alignment of pumps, motors, and drive systems
Support and enforce all safety programs and compliance standards
Coordinate with production and engineering teams to minimize downtime
Develop and track KPIs to improve equipment reliability and maintenance efficiency
Participate in capital projects, upgrades, and equipment improvements
Qualifications
Minimum 5+ years of maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing plant
2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience preferred
Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
Proficient in troubleshooting 480V 3‑phase power and 120V control circuits
Ability to weld, fabricate, and use industrial hand and power tools
Solid understanding of preventive maintenance programs and CMMS software
Location North Chicago area
