This role is vital for ensuring the smooth and accurate flow of goods into and out of our facility. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of shipping and receiving, including unloading incoming shipments, verifying contents, preparing outgoing orders, and maintaining accurate inventory records. Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming freight.
- Verify shipment contents against purchase orders and packing slips, noting any discrepancies.
- Process and document outgoing shipments, including accurate labeling and Bill of Lading creation.
- Prepare orders for shipment, ensuring items are correctly picked, packed, and staged.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts (if certified), pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
- Maintain organized and clean shipping and receiving areas.
- Update inventory records accurately and promptly.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, including the proper use of PPE.
- Communicate effectively with carriers, warehouse staff, and management.
- Assist with other logistics and warehouse duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or a similar logistics role.
- Forklift operation experience is a strong plus.
- Ability to perform lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Knowledge of shipping software and carrier procedures is beneficial.
- Understanding of warehouse safety practices and the importance of PPE.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be reliable and possess a strong work ethic.
