Field HEOR scientists engage access customers, conduct health economics and outcomes research, and lead medical interfaces key to medication access decisions.
Summary The Field HEOR Scientist works within a field matrix team to engage access organizations and decision-makers within their assigned territory. They combine technical HEOR knowledge with U.S. healthcare system business models to support medication access decision‑making.
Responsibilities
Conduct health economics and outcomes research as part of a cross‑functional matrix team.
Lead the medical interface with key access customers in a field‑facing role.
Collaborate on the development and implementation of the U.S. HEOR strategy, plans, and research.
Partner with home office medical teams to develop, interpret, and disseminate data assessing the medical value of BMS assets.
Direct research strategy to ensure BMS answers key questions in the health care marketplace driven by payer insights.
Lead HEOR for therapeutic areas and focus field activities on specific accounts.
Develop sustainable customer relationships and discuss comprehensive scientific, health economic, epidemiology, and quality of life information.
Work closely with commercial Account Executives, MSLs, and home office medical matrix teams.
Lead specific projects/initiatives impacting the broader field HEOR team.
Qualifications
Doctoral trained professional (PhD, PharmD, MD) with emphasis in health services research, health economics, public health, or related field.
A master’s level degree considered if specific to health economics or outcomes research with appropriate clinical background.
Minimum five years of work experience in pharmaceutical, managed care, or consulting industries with a focus on Market Access and experience conducting health economics and outcomes research.
Demonstrated expertise in health economics and outcomes research with publications.
Ability to understand, interpret, and make recommendations on evolving U.S. healthcare marketplace and comparative effectiveness research.
Proven ability to build customer relationships and strong problem‑solving and communication skills.
Fluency in travel required and ability to drive a company‑provided vehicle.
Compensation Field: United States – $211,880 – $256,748 (base). Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities may be available.
