Position Highlights
Type: Contract (Potential to Convert)
Duration: 6–9 Months
Pay Rate: $33–$39/hr
Conversion Salary Range: ~$70–$80k
Schedule: 40 hours/week
Location: Hybrid — 2 days onsite per week

Must-Have Qualifications
Nonprofit industry experience (required)
Experience with Sage Intacct
Full-cycle accounting capabilities (AP, AR, GL, JE posting, bank reconciliations)
Experience managing fixed assets
Grants knowledge
Strong communication and ability to operate independently
Bachelor's degree strongly preferred
Nice‑to‑Haves
Experience with AI tools or automations
Strong Excel and analytical skills
Prior success in contract/consulting roles
Role Overview This accountant will play a key role on a finance team of ~20 professionals. The role supports full‑cycle accounting, financial reporting, month‑end close tasks, and asset management. The organization is undergoing a restructure, and the individual stepping into this role will help stabilize and support updated processes and workflows.
Ideal Candidate Profile
4+ years of nonprofit accounting experience
Strong technical background in full‑cycle accounting
Confident communicator who thrives in collaborative environments
Ability to quickly adapt and contribute in a fast‑paced, mission‑driven setting
Daily Responsibilities Include
Process AP/AR transactions and prepare journal entries
Perform account reconciliations and support month‑end close
Maintain and track fixed assets and depreciation schedules
Assist senior accountants and leadership with reporting projects
Support process improvements and organizational initiatives
Hiring Process
Round 1: Panel interview with senior accounting team members
Round 2: Final virtual conversation with the finance leader
Offer approvals: fully approved
Target start date: as soon as selected candidate completes process
