The
Senior Government Acquisition Review Advisor
supports U.S. Coast Guard–led senior-level acquisition reviews by assessing program documentation, acquisition processes, and associated risks. This role is designed for senior acquisition professionals capable of conducting independent, risk-based evaluations and producing comprehensive, defensible review products suitable for scrutiny by oversight bodies such as the Government Accountability Office (GAO) and Congress.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct
senior-level acquisition program reviews
to assess process integrity, documentation consistency, and overall program risk.
Evaluate the
accuracy, completeness, and reasonableness
of acquisition documents and review products.
Perform
risk-based assessments
across multiple program domains, including but not limited to:
Design maturity and completeness
Schedule realism
Financial viability and affordability
C5ISR integration
Production readiness
Logistics and sustainment
Test and evaluation
Cybersecurity and program protection
Supplier and industrial base risk
Document and clearly articulate the
rationale for success or failure
of solicitations, program decisions, or vendor performance.
Develop
executive-level written products
that present findings, conclusions, and substantiated recommendations.
Support Government decision-making and oversight readiness by ensuring review products are defensible and internally consistent.
Education and/or Experience Required
Senior Executive Service (SES) level or equivalent
senior acquisition experience, demonstrated through prior senior government service, executive leadership roles, or recognized professional credentials.
Demonstrated experience conducting
acquisition program reviews
and assessing documentation consistency, completeness, and reasonableness.
Proven ability to perform
independent risk assessments
and document findings in a manner suitable for external oversight.
Exceptional analytical, writing, and briefing skills.
Preferred Skills
Prior experience supporting
U.S. Coast Guard, DoD, DHS, or other federal acquisition oversight reviews .
Experience preparing materials reviewed by
GAO, Congress, or Inspector General
entities.
Familiarity with major systems acquisition governance frameworks.
Work Environment & Schedule
As-needed, surge-based support
aligned with Government review schedules.
Work may be performed
remotely or on-site , depending on review requirements.
Assignments typically involve short-duration, high-intensity review periods.
Security, Eligibility, and Compliance Requirements
Ability to successfully complete required
background investigations
and meet U.S. Coast Guard access requirements.
Strict adherence to Government confidentiality, ethics, and information security policies.
