Customer Service Specialist Target Hiring Range: $62,000-$70,000

Department: Support Operations | Posting Date: 12/22/2025-1/5/2026 | Pay Grade: $61,290-$107,311

Work Hours: 12:30pm-9:30pm | FLSA Status: Non-Exempt | Remote Work Status: Onsite

Job Overview The Senate Sergeant at Arms (SAA) seeks a Customer Service Specialist for the fast‑paced Printing, Graphics, and Direct Mail (PGDM) team. The specialist acts as a liaison between Senate offices and PGDM services, translating customer needs into clear, actionable production solutions.

Key Accountabilities / Essential Duties

Explains services, policies, procedures, and regulations; assists customers with service requests and status inquiries.

Creates and verifies work orders; forwards rush orders to appropriate processing area.

Co‑ordinates with production supervisory staff on rush work orders and requests.

Communicates regular status updates to customers and notifies of proof or work order completion.

Maintains manual and electronic records; reviews shift summary reports and completed work orders for accuracy.

Other duties as assigned.

Job Specifications Required Education High School Diploma or GED.

Required Work Experience

At least two years of relevant customer service experience.

Required Special Skills / Knowledge

Proficiency in key areas relevant to the role (skills assessment may be conducted).

Knowledge of SAA PGDM services and workflows.

Knowledge of Senate rules, regulations, and procedures.

Proficiency with office equipment, computers, and relevant software/Web applications.

Ability to prepare and maintain records and reports.

Effective communication and problem‑solving skills.

Availability for emergency recall, after‑hours, and weekend work if required.

Desired Qualifications

Customer service experience in a production or printing environment.

Understanding of print terminology and file preparation standards.

Willingness to learn new printing technologies and workflows.

Strong problem‑solving skills with proven solutions.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook emphasis) and Adobe Creative Suite.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple requests simultaneously with high accuracy.

Customer‑focused mindset and commitment to high‑quality service.

Working Conditions

Onsite presence required during Senate sessions; availability during government shutdowns, inclement weather, holidays, and late nights.

Stationary computer work with occasional movement; occasional lifting of boxes Conditions of Employment U.S. citizenship and lawful permanent residency are required. Employment is contingent on background and security investigation results.
