Accounts Payable Manager
Location: Rancho Cucamonga, CA
Work Setting: Hybrid; onsite Tuesday–Thursday, remote Monday & Friday
Travel: None
Compensation: $100,000 – $120,000
Bonus: 10% annual bonus eligibility
Position Summary The Accounts Payable Manager is a critical leadership role responsible for stabilizing, leading, and continuously improving the Accounts Payable function in a high-volume, fast‑paced environment. This position emphasizes people leadership, internal controls, documentation, and process improvement rather than day‑to‑day invoice processing. The AP Manager will partner closely with the Controller and Finance leadership to strengthen controls, prevent fraud, ensure compliance, and deliver a service‑oriented AP function that supports the broader organization.
What You’ll Do
Lead and manage daily Accounts Payable operations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
Oversee invoice processing, vendor payments, and posting to the general ledger
Review daily cash availability and plan weekly pay runs in partnership with Finance and Procurement
Drive process improvements, documentation, and enforcement of AP policies and procedures
Enforce treasury controls and fraud prevention practices; train the team on fraud awareness
Ensure strong internal controls and effective use of AP technology, including OCR tools and ERP functionality
Lead AP‑related month‑end and year‑end close activities, including accruals and reconciliations
Reconcile AP aging to the general ledger and resolve discrepancies with Finance
Oversee 1099 processing and compliance with applicable tax regulations
Serve as the AP subject matter expert during internal and external audits
Analyze and report on AP metrics including DPO, AP aging, AP turns, and staffing ratios
Partner with IT on NetSuite (Oracle‑based) system enhancements and improvements
Foster a collaborative, service‑oriented AP team that supports the broader organization
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
5+ years of experience in Accounts Payable management or accounting with direct people leadership
Strong background in controls, disbursements, treasury processes, and vendor maintenance
Proven experience leading change, documenting processes, and driving improvements
Advanced Excel skills
Experience operating in high‑volume AP environments (thousands of invoices monthly)
Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with NetSuite or Oracle‑based ERP systems
Background in distribution, supply chain, or retail‑adjacent environments
Exposure to big‑box retailers or complex vendor structures
Experience partnering closely with Procurement and IT
