I’m partnering with a well‑established company in Mansfield to hire a
Cash Application Specialist
for their Accounting team. The focus of this role is
payment posting and reconciliation —not collections. It’s a
contract‑to‑hire
opportunity with real potential to convert to permanent early based on performance.

What you’ll do
Post and reconcile high‑volume customer payments across multiple methods (lockbox, ACH, wires, checks, cards).
Balance and
reconcile batches ; research and resolve unapplied/misapplied payments and remittance discrepancies.
Keep daily AR records tight (aging, unapplied items, exceptions) and elevate issues when needed.
Partner with Accounting to support
month‑end close
tasks related to cash posting and GL alignment.
Navigate the ERP to post entries, run reports, and document corrections with accuracy and speed.
Contribute to continuous improvement—identify process gaps and help refine cash application workflows.
Must‑have qualifications
2+ years
of hands‑on
cash application / payment posting
experience (high‑volume preferred).
Fast, accurate 10‑key
skills and strong attention to detail when reconciling payment batches.
Comfort researching remittances and fixing exceptions with minimal hand‑holding.
Solid Excel fundamentals for reconciliation and reporting.
