Salary Range:

$49,000 - $76,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity We partner with manufacturers across Rockford seeking Metrology Technicians who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

Perform calibration of measurement tools, gauges, and equipment.

Operate and program advanced metrology equipment (e.g., CMM, optical comparators, laser scanners).

Conduct precise dimensional inspections of manufactured parts and assemblies.

Analyze measurement data, interpret engineering drawings, and generate detailed inspection reports.

Maintain accurate calibration records and documentation in accordance with quality standards.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to measurement equipment and inspection processes.

Assist in the development and improvement of metrology procedures and best practices.

Recommended Qualifications

Proficiency in operating various metrology equipment (e.g., CMMs, optical comparators, precision hand tools).

Strong ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

Experience with calibration processes, measurement system analysis (MSA), and metrology software.

Solid understanding of measurement principles, uncertainty, and quality standards.

Technical degree or certificate in Metrology, Quality Assurance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Bonus Qualifications

Experience with programming or scripting for data analysis and automation (e.g., Python, VBA).

ASQ GD&T Professional certification or advanced application of GD&T principles.

Proficiency with specialized metrology software (e.g., PolyWorks, GOM Inspect, Minitab for SPC).

Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
