Key Responsibilities

Perform calibration and verification of measurement equipment and gauges.

Conduct precise dimensional inspections of manufactured parts using CMMs, optical comparators, and hand tools.

Develop, validate, and execute CMM programs for complex part geometries.

Analyze measurement data, identify discrepancies, and generate detailed inspection reports.

Maintain accurate records of calibration activities, measurement results, and equipment maintenance.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to measurement equipment performance and accuracy.

Ensure all metrology activities comply with industry standards and quality management systems.

Recommended Qualifications

Associate's degree in a technical field (e.g., Metrology, Machining, Quality, Engineering Technology) or equivalent experience.

Proficiency in operating and programming Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) using industry-standard software (e.g., PC‑DMIS, Calypso).

Strong understanding and practical application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and the ability to interpret complex engineering drawings.

Expertise in using a wide range of precision measurement tools, including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and optical comparators.

Familiarity with calibration processes, measurement uncertainty principles, and quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001).

Bonus Qualifications

Advanced Statistical Process Control (SPC) knowledge and experience with statistical software (e.g., Minitab).

Proficiency with CAD software for model-based inspection programming or reverse engineering.

Experience with scripting or programming automated measurement routines (e.g., CMM, vision systems).

Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma Yellow/Green Belt certification.
