HR Generalist | Battle Creek, MI

Salary Range: $55,000 - $82,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle recruitment for production, skilled trades, and administrative roles within the manufacturing plant.
  • Provide guidance and support to employees and managers on HR policies, procedures, and employee relations issues.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local labor laws, including OSHA regulations and manufacturing-specific standards.
  • Administer HR programs such as onboarding, performance management, and benefits enrollment for plant personnel.
  • Conduct investigations into workplace incidents, grievances, and disciplinary matters, ensuring fair and consistent application of policies.
  • Support the development and delivery of training programs, including safety, compliance, and skills development for the manufacturing workforce.
  • Maintain accurate HR records and HRIS data for all plant employees, supporting payroll and reporting needs.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Experience as an HR Generalist in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state employment laws, including OSHA regulations, and HR best practices.
  • Proven ability to manage employee relations, conduct investigations, and resolve conflicts effectively.
  • Proficiency in full-cycle recruitment, with experience hiring for production, skilled trades, and technical roles.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport across all levels of the organization, from shop floor to management.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Bilingual (Spanish preferred)
  • Understanding of Lean/Six Sigma principles or continuous improvement methodologies
  • Familiarity with manufacturing-specific safety regulations (e.g., OSHA)
  • Experience with a specific HRIS commonly used in manufacturing (e.g., Kronos, ADP)
