Position Summary Assists with the direction and coordination of clinic staff through supervision, policy and procedure development, best practices implementation, and quality improvement initiatives. Supports the provision of care that is safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable.
Position Key Accountabilities Patient Care & Clinical Operations
Performs responsibilities in a manner that promotes the delivery of high quality patient care and exceptional customer service to patients, their families, referring physicians, vendors, the public, and other departments within the institution as needed for the clinic.
Maintains confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines in regard to patient information.
Assists with the development of priorities, goals, action plans, and scheduling processes to ensure adequate number and skill mix of staff.
Assists with the establishment of the care philosophy, scope of practice, and implements appropriate standards of care and practice.
Assists with communication and problem‑solving for the department; serves on committees; serves as a liaison between medical staff and ancillary departments.
Assists with the monitoring of departmental activities and records to facilitate adherence to regulatory requirements; assists with the evaluation of care outcomes and processes, making recommendations for action plans for improvement; assists with the development and implementation of practice standards, service standards, and patient satisfaction.
Oversees compliance of staff to infection control/environmental safety practices and mandatory education requirements.
Assists with oversight of all clinic facilities and equipment management, which includes maintaining a clean safe environment for clinical inspections by regulatory agencies and coordinating building maintenance needs.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Financial & Personnel Management
Assists with the selection, orientation, supervision, and evaluation of clinic staff.
Collaborates with staff to identify educational needs and arranges in‑service and staff development opportunities related to front and back‑office duties, billing and revenue cycle practices.
Serves as a resource person while assisting with development, interpretation, and implementation of policies and procedures; assists with the planning, preparation, utilization, evaluation, and monitoring of budgets.
Makes recommendations to increase clinic volume/productivity, clinic efficiency, decrease costs, or improve daily operations.
Assists with management of Human Resources activities of the department in regards to recruiting and selection, hiring and terminations, training, professional development, mentoring, counseling, performance evaluations, and salary planning.
Ensures accurate submission of time and leave requests, and verifies monthly payroll statements reflect submitted and approved time.
Produces all reports, manuals, and agendas, correspondence as directed by physicians and department administration on clinic volume, expense, patient throughput, and profitability.
Other duties as assigned.
Certification / Skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office.
Proficient with EMR (Athena and/or Epic).
Basic Life Support (BLS) by American Heart Association (AHA) preferred.
EPIC Certification by EPIC preferred.
Minimum Education Associate’s degree or experience in lieu of education.
Minimum Experience Four years of clinical management experience in an outpatient clinic. May substitute required experience with equivalent years of education beyond the minimum education requirement.
Physical Requirements Exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
