The
Accountant II
supports key accounting functions including general ledger activities, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and month‑end close processes. This role works closely with Finance leadership and cross‑functional partners to ensure accurate financial records, compliance with
GAAP , and adherence to internal controls within a healthcare setting.
Base pay range $65,000.00 per year – $75,000.00 per year
Responsibilities
Prepare and review
general ledger journal entries , account reconciliations, and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
Support
month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close
activities, including variance analysis and resolution of discrepancies.
Assist with the preparation of
financial statements, management reports, and ad‑hoc analyses
for Finance leadership and operational stakeholders.
Collaborate with department leaders and operational teams to research and resolve accounting questions, discrepancies, and reporting issues.
Maintain and support
internal controls , policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory and audit requirements.
Participate in
internal and external audit activities , including preparation of schedules, documentation, and responses to audit inquiries.
Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data within
automated accounting and reporting systems .
Support process improvements and efficiency initiatives within the Finance function.
Perform other accounting and finance‑related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
The qualified candidate will have
five to seven years of progressive accounting experience
with a strong working knowledge of
Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) .
Healthcare industry experience is preferred .
The ideal candidate can manage
multiple priorities simultaneously
while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail, and communicates professionally—both verbally and in writing—with department leaders, coworkers, and external vendors.
Proficiency with
automated financial systems
and standard business software, including
Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word , is required.
Education
A
Bachelor’s degree
in
Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
from an accredited college or university (or international equivalent) is required.
A
Master’s degree and/or CPA certification is preferred .
