Position Overview The Estimator is responsible for analyzing project specifications, performing cost estimates, and preparing proposals for construction projects. This role requires a keen understanding of construction processes and sitework to ensure accurate and competitive bids.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze project drawings and specifications to determine scope and cost estimates.
Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labor, and overhead.
Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing.
Review and interpret contract documents to identify potential risks and opportunities in project budgeting.
Collaborate with project managers and engineers to provide input on project feasibility and cost‑effective solutions.
Prepare and submit bid proposals in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with specified requirements.
Attend pre‑bid meetings and site visits to gather information and assess project requirements.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in estimating for construction projects.
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and sitework processes.
Proficiency in estimating software and tools.
Excellent analytical and mathematical skills, with attention to detail.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
